Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.
At Smoky Lake Maple Products, we actively seek opportunities to give back through charitable projects/fundraisers and enthusiastic volunteerism. Our main goals include improving/preserving our environment, honoring our veterans and strengthening our communities.

Phelps Maple Fest • April 2, 2016
Every year Jim and Angela volunteer at the Phelps Maple Fest. It is a great opportunity to educate our community about making maple syrup and to promote the maple industry. Jim leads tree tapping demonstrations to encourage folks to try making maple syrup in their own backyard. Angela assists with the Maple Syrup Judging contest which helps teach maple producers how to improve the quality of their product. Smoky Lake also donated a beginner maple syrup production pan which was raffled to benefit the Phelps Chamber of Commerce.
Calendar Girls for ALS Fundraiser • 2015 – 2016
Smoky Lake Vice President, Angela Schumacher, spearheaded this collaborative arts project to raise money for Compassionate Care ALS in honor of sugar maker Eric Johnson. The maple-inspired photography series created for this fundraiser was showcased at The Flying Pig Gallery in Algoma, Wisconsin. Robyn Mulhaney, co-owner of The Flying Pig said “The calendar project provided serious conversation in a humorous context… The exhibit was a hit without female customers which was an added surprise. We are proud to have hung such a well designed and curated show.” In February, 2016, the calendar project won a GOLD award from the American Advertising Federation as well as a JUDGES CHOICE award which ranks the calendar as one of the top Wisconsin-based design projects of 2015. The 2016 Calendar created for this fundraiser is for sale on smokylakemaple.com. 100% of the profit is forwarded to Compassionate Care ALS.
