I appreciate the extra resources I was given for proper operation. We are beginners and the extra help was useful. Thank you

    Game changer

I am impressed with the steam bottler as it was easy to use and maintained the temperature. My old bottler would sometimes reach 200 degrees, which I learned is a big no no. The craftmanship was great! I also purchased the murphy float and murphy cup and hydrometer. This to me is a must to be able to know the density at any temperature from the barrel through bottling. I made 183 gallons of syrup this year. Smoky Lake Maple Products are impressive, I give them a 5+ Star rating. Thank You.

      Thank you!

We got the 16×16 flat filter with vacuum and electric steam tray. It is a very well thought out and constructed setup for filtering and bottling. We were able to set this up directly off our 2×4 corsair to filter and bottle straight off evaporator. Using multiple filter sets and filtering hot is key. Filtered and bottled 85gal syrup 2022. Also used for refiltering and bottling 40gal of infused syrups.

We are so happy to hear this. High five. Have a great day.

This thing kicks ass. I wish I would have gotten it sooner.

I’m a big fan of Smoky Lakes products. Only have had positive experiences in the past. I purchased the bottler system with the electric heating control and the vacuum system. Found it extremely difficult to use the 14″ x 14″ flat filters. Challenging to get the filters to lay down properly. Main filter developed creases (after first use) which made them shorter and did not fit under the pan meant to hold them tight and in place. Tried it with various main filters and when the pan was seated all the filters rose in the center and left voids at the edges. As a result could not get the edges to create an air tight seal rendering the negative pressure created by the shop-vac far less efficient. Love everything else about the unit, just disappointed in the vacuum.

We got an opportunity to use our new 12 by 12 Smoky Lake gas fired steam finisher bottler this week.
It worked flawlessly for both the finishing and bottling of our first run of syrup in 2021.
The pride of workmanship is very evident with the product and made in our wonderful USA.
Thanks To all the folks at Smoky Lake

After attending one of Smoky Lakes seminars on filtering & bottling we purchased their !6 x 16 x 12 gas fired flat filer and bottler. Being able to filter as we draw off our finished syrup & keeping it warm until time for bottling is such a time saver! The filters are easy to rinse and the whole unit is easy to clean. A marriage saver after using the cone filters for several years, this is another great product from a great company.

I purchased the 13.25 gallon steam bottling unit with electric heating element. My first couple of years I used a coffee urn, which worked okay, but was clumsy, small, and it didn’t pour the syrup out in a nice stream. The valve reducer on this product is a must. The syrup comes out in a smooth, bubble-free stream. The steam bottler is very well built. I happened to go to the Smokey Lake store to see it before I bought mine, but trust me, you could order this online and you’ll be very happy with the quality of construction. It’s sturdy and well designed. I was able to finish, filter (using Smokey Lake filter press) and bottle 36 gallons in about 5 hours with it. I’m still a rookie, so next year I bet I can do that in three! My process is to get the syrup close to finished in the evaporator, finish in an 8-gallon pot, pump through filter press and into the bottler. The beauty is I can run the entire operation myself if needed, because I the bottler keeps the syrup hot while I monitor the next batch, or I can have a helper to bottle while I finish. I love the bottler — I just wish I had another hobby that needed a bottler, so I could use it again before next season!

The filter/finisher/bottler is by far the most easiest piece of equipment to use. I finished inside the house this year and used the bottler on the glass top stove. Placing hot water in the steam tray really made the bottling process fast. It took less than an hour to get the room temperature syrup up to 190 degrees. What I like most is there are no hot spots in the tank. Everything is heated equally you can stir the syrup if you want, but it’s really not necessary, and putting it into the jars was a snap. Great job Smoky Lake. Keep up the good work and innovations.

The steam bottler unit is a LIFE SAVER! It worked so well! I was dreading the filtering/bottling process, and this year it was a joy!

I am running a 32 tap/bucket sap line this year and do the bulk of the evaporating on two 2′ x 4′ flat pans. Typically I can reduce whatever amount of sap I collect to about 2 gallons with the flat pans. I simply transfer the sweet over to the 16″ x 16″ finisher/bottler for the final evaporation to density. I draw the syrup off once I hit density and poor it through the flat filter and tray back into the finisher before bottling. So far I have bottled 12.5 gallons of syrup with this unit, I can’t say enough about how the use of this unit has improved the quality of the syrup I make, greatly eased the once tedious task of filtering, and took the error out of bottling (no more spills). The quality and craftsmanship is outstanding, even the packaging was excellent. Thanks Smoky Lake Maple for caring as much as I do! Great product I highly recommend.

I just got my new steam bottler in the mail. It was super fast shipping and the thing is as pretty as the new Smokylake pans I purchased this year. I can’t wait to use it.

Sadly our syrup season is over. I am very pleased with our new canner from Smoky Lake. Filtering with hot syrup right from the evaporator is the way to go, it’s fast and the bottled syrup is sparkling clear. Beautiful, thanks for a great addition to our maple syrup program.

The bottler system is beautiful!! 🙂 and in PERFECT condition! I’m so excited I feel like I should be on a commercial or something! 🙂
