Description

Screw adjustment on back allows for micro adjustments. This way you can compensate for the temperature at which water boils (which changes according to altitude and atmospheric pressures). Simply turn the micro-adjustment screw to "0" when the thermometer is in boiling water. Then insert the thermometer into your pan. The arrow will make one full revolution and land on the bold "7" marker when the syrup is ready to draw off.For more detail, please download our INSTRUCTION SHEET.CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:

Clean the dial face with a clean, damp rag. Never immerse your thermometer dial in water. Doing so may result in fogging inside the dial face and/or moisture damage. This type of blooper can not be covered under warranty.
To achieve more accurate readings, the stem of your thermometer should be clean and any mineral build-up should be removed. Depending on the amount of build-up present, deposits are usually easily removed by soaking the stem for up to 12 hours in 50/50 mixture of vinegar and hot water. They may also be removed with light scraping.

We also offer Thermometers with a 0–250º scale which are excellent for bottling.

This is the perfect thermometer to use while boiling. The arrow will make one full revolution and land on the bold “7” marker when the syrup is ready to draw off.

NOTES ON STEM SIZES: Smoky Lake drop-flue and raised-flue pan sets generally work best with a 9" stem thermometer. Smoky Lake hybrid pans and flat pans generally work best with a 6" stem thermometer.

Please note that a 5″ dial face is NOT compatible with a Full Pint pan. For compatible thermometer on a Full Pint, please see our 3″ dial face thermometer.
