Adding Hole In Corsair Arch for a Drain Manifold on a Pan

January 12, 2021

If you are introducing a new pan with a drain manifold to your Corsair Evaporator, you may need to cut a hole in the side of your arch so that you can access and use the manifold. If you purchased the pan with drain manifold and the Corsair Arch at the same time, we will factory install the hole for the drain manifold for you. The below instructions apply to adding a drain manifold after the fact.

Cutting the Hole For a Smoky Lake High Output Pan Set:

The following measurement will apply to flues that are 7″ deep.

You will need a bi-metal hole saw, 1-1/8″ in diameter. It looks similar to this:

The hole should be placed 11-9/16″ from the rear of the Corsair arch and 1-3/8″ from the bottom of the lower rail. These measurements are ON CENTER of the hole being drilled.

Cutting the Hole For a Smoky Lake Hybrid Pan:

Step Drill Bit

You will need a step drill that will reach 1-1/8″ in diameter as pictured above.

If Your Flues Are 5″ Deep:

The hole should be placed 11-9/16″ from the rear of the Corsair arch and 3-3/8″ from the bottom of the lower rail. These measurements are ON CENTER of the hole being drilled.

If Your Flues Are 4.5″ Deep:

Hybrid pans were transitioned to a new flue depth in 2021. Hence, the hole placement for the Drain Manifold has transitioned at the same time.

Place the hole 11-9/16″ from the rear of the Corsair arch and 3-7/8″ from the bottom of the lower rail. These measurements are ON CENTER of the hole being drilled.
