Double Wall Exhaust for Sugarhouses

Today, we visit Jimmy Brochtrup’s sugarhouse. Jimmy uses a concentric-compatible upgrade to safely insulate his exhaust pipe. This way, the inner stack pipe can exceed 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit while the outer pipe remains cool enough to touch.

For this system, you will need:

• Outside pipe (2″ air gap all the way around the inside pipe)
• 2-pt Support (To “belt” around the outside pipe)
• Chain (Hang the support from your ceiling)
• Offset Spacer (To keep the inside pipe centered)
