The Liberator Arch comes fully insulated with ceramic blanket insulation. This amazing material will direct the heat into your pan, rather than allowing it to spill into the room and be wasted. This is a brick-free evaporator.
If BUDGET is a main consideration, check out Drop Flue. It has slightly lower cost; in part because it employs only one Float Box, while Raised Flue requires two Float Boxes. Having a single Float Box makes the system slightly more straight forward to operate as well.
Next, what SIZE evaporator are you envisioning? If larger than a 2′ x 6′, we typically encourage the Raised Flue option. This is because the head pressure from the Raised Flue Pan will allow sap to recover more quickly in the Front Pan whenever you draw off syrup.
Between these options, the oil burner tends to offer the highest energy density. It is worthwhile to note that the Gas option can work with either Propane OR Natural Gas. Another consideration is the amount of set up and potential updates required in your building to support these fuel types. Natural Gas inherently requires more preparation and often requiring professional installation.
Regardless which of these three options you choose, the Liberator allows faster start up and shut down compared to wood-fired evaporators.
