Operation Instructions

  • Make sure the rubber feet on your Smoky Lake Bottler are at least 1.5″ tall. This taller height will give the head of your heating element proper clearance.
  • Always apply Teflon tape or sealing compound to the 1″ NPT threads to prevent binding and enhance seal.
  • Mount the unit in a horizontal position.
  • The coils should ALWAYS be immersed in liquid during operation.
  • Never force the knob to turn past the limit stop.
  • It is possible for this heating element to boil liquid. Please watch the thermometer on your bottling unit and make sure that the thermostat is set at the appropriate heat.
  • Never immerse or spray the head of the heating element.

The Tempco® immersion heater is a wonderful replacement for the legacy Ulanet-brand heating element.

This Tempco heater is compatible with Smoky Lake Bottlers (electric), but the rubber feet on the bottler must be at least 1.5″ tall.

Compatibility

Your Smoky Lake bottler will need 1.5″-tall rubber feet to be compatible with this heater. The Tempco heater has a larger control head and requires slightly more clearance compared to our legacy styles of heaters from Smoky Lake. Check your bottler’s foot height and add the below kit if needed.

Tall Rubber Feet Kit (for Smoky Lake Bottlers)

This set of 4 rubber feet is compatible with the Smoky Lake Steam Bottler and Smoky Lake Water Jacketed Bottler.

The feet are 1.5 inches tall , which is taller than the legacy version of these feet. These taller feet allow the bottlers to accommodate the new Tempco® Heating Element.

Each kit includes 4 washers and 4 barrel nuts for easy, quick installation.
