Installation Instructions for Corsair or Silverplate
Warning: Never over-tighten the nut that holds this glass plate in place. Having too much restriction on the glass could cause it to crack, especially when the materials are expanding/contracting in changing temperatures. It is best to finger tighten the nut and then back it off by a 1/4 turn.
Some folks refer to this product as a “Sight Window”. However, we refer to it as a “Peep Window” in an effort to not get it confused with a “Sight Glass”. A “Sight Glass” is a completely different product, used to measure sap depth in the pans.

This kit allows you to add a Peep Window to your Firebox. Now you will know what’s happening in the combustion chamber without ever having to open up the door. (Opening the door kills the boil.) By firing more consistently, you will improve your boiling efficiency. The special glass stays clear while firing.
