Instructions for Sight Glass on Float Box
The base is solid stainless steel with an anti-turbulence oriface to keep the liquid steady within the sight glass while there is a rolling boil in the pan it is connected to. The glass is fire polished and shatter-resistant. The scale can be placed by you to ensure the level is perfectly calibrated to your pan.
Some legacy models of Smoky Lake Float Boxes may not have included a connection drain on the bottom of them. In those cases, please contact us during our off season and we may be able to help add that port. Alternatively, the Sight Glass for Draw Off is another possible solution.
If you do not have a Float Box, check out our Sight Glasses for 3/4″ Draw-Off Ports or our Sight Glasses for 1/2″ Draw-Off Ports.
Eric Bellville Ohio –
We purchased the sight glass for our front and rear pans. It’s well worth it. It’s also nice to be able to tell what your sap depth is in your pans. Well worth the extra money.
