They will never spend weeks rolling around in the back of some other customer’s car. They’ll never be secretly used and then land back on our shelves.

In contrast, there may be other maple retailers out there who have lower standards in their return policies. Make no mistake, when those retailers accept a hydrometer return, that instrument will end up back on their shelf, pretending to be “new” to the next customer. So when you work with those companies, you have no way of knowing whether that hydrometer you are getting is truly new or if it may have been previously used and/or rejected by someone else. It’s a Russian roulette of sorts.
