If you’ve waited on buying the Auto Draw-off System…Just buy it!
We upgraded to a Smoky Lake drop flue pan 5 seasons ago. After a few years of discussing whether or not to buy the Auto Draw-off System, we purchased it this year. What a difference!
Aspects we love:
+ Don’t have to sit and 100% watch the evaporator
+ Don’t worry about missing the draw-off time
+ Digital readout easier to read than analog dial on the syrup pan
+ Avoids scorching the syrup and deforming pan
+ Makes sap evaporating more enjoyable and less stressful
+ Enables multitasking
Cons:
– It’s expensive, but once it’s paid for – no regrets!
– Green set point number hard to see when sunlight shines on readout
Honestly we should have purchased the Auto Draw Off sooner. No regrets! We highly recommend.

This is our second year with the simplicity auto-draw off unit. As an ag teacher who is using our syrup project as a learning tool and someone who has many different community volunteers running our operation daily. This gives me and them the confidence to have a consistent product and the piece of mind to know they have less to worry about. It is awesome to show off when people stop in to see the sugar shack as well. Keep up the good work and thanks for always being available to answer our questions.

This auto draw unit has really put the fun back in the syrup making process for us. We vary the drawoff temp by the change in the barometer and start the daily boil. In the bottling process all but 5 gallons of the 43 we bottled was right on the mark so needed no extra finishing. Gone is frantic checking, we would never go back to the old way. We can actually have relaxed conversations with all the friends stopping by. We have not had any problems with the functionality or settings.
We would recommend it highly.

The unit worked great. It is a plug and play unit, so it was easy to setup right out of the box. This was my first time using an auto-draw off. i would recommend this to anybody that has any kind of volume…
