Yes. Lubricate the threads of the compression rods to prevent binding. Whichever lubricant you use, follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for frequency of application. We recommend Jet-Lube White Knight Food-Grade Anti-Seize. If you have an air diaphragm pump, add a couple drops of Air Tool Oil in the air inlet port after every 5 hours of operation.
