Thank You, Veterans!

This May, Smoky Lake is excited to honor our veterans by donating a portion of all sales to Puppies Behind Bars. This nonprofit organization provides service dogs to wounded war veterans and first responders.

The organization is very unique because the puppies are raised by prison inmates. It is a therapeutic and uplifting opportunity for inmates to “connect with their humanity” and play a key role in making this world a better place. The story of Puppies Behind Bars is a true story of hope from beginning to end.

This charity is “checking all the boxes”. Our hearts are warmed by the dedication of their volunteers and the compassion they have for both the people and the animals in their program. We are inspired by the hope they are giving to our veterans and first responders. We recognize how transformative each aspect of their mission has been for both the individuals involved in the program, as well as their communities as a whole.

Puppies Behind Bars boasts two decades worth of social change and has earned top ratings on Charity Navigator.
