This Hydrometer is American made and contains a scale that is far easier to read than any other brand syrup hydrometer. Instead of having number delineation only every 5 points (forcing you to count up or down from these points to determine an actual reading) the Smoky Lake Syrup Hydrometer has EVERY point marked. This Hydrometer is more accurate and more resistant to breakage than the Chinese-made units that you see for sale on the internet.
